Titanium Spork: 14 years later!
This is the Snow Peak titanium spork, and on the geek scale of 1 to 10, it rates at least an 8. It was given to me as a gift in the year 2007. The person who gave it even had it etched with my name. I've used it almost every day for the past 14 years and it still looks as good as new. Back in grade school and junior high we ate with plastic sporks during school lunch, and the nostalgia value was what originally appealed to me; but now, the feeling of eating with something as indestructible as this is hard to describe, and it's similar to the feeling of cooking in cast iron. The Snow Peak spork was one of the original products sold by Think Geek, back before they were acquired by Game Stop and a lot of their products were discontinued. Today you can also get a titanium spork at sporting good stores like REI. However, the colored utensils are chrome plated, and they'll scratch after regular use; so I would recommend only getting the original uncolored spork. But this spork is certain to last the rest of my life, and I love buy-it-for-life kitchen tools. It also has one of the greatest product reviews ever written on Amazon, which gives an idea of why this is the perfect eating utensil.
