There's one brand of cast iron pan that's made in the USA and they can be found everywhere, and that's these cast iron baking molds with very fancy designs. These were made in the 1980s by the John Wright company of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Many of these pans have a handle design that can easily be identified, and they 're very elaborate and can be used to bake some wonderful looking desserts. However, collectors don't seem to care very much about these pieces, and even these days when cast iron antiques are selling at high prices, John Wright pans can be found at flea markets and yard sales, usually selling at dirt cheap prices. It's a shame these pieces haven't been given the attention they deserve, but it does mean you can acquire a vintage made in the USA cast iron pan at a good price if you find one of these. And of course, these pieces are best when they're actually used and not just put on display. So, let's bake!
