10x your ChatGPT answers with this simple strategy
There’s a lot of good videos and courses out there about how to use ChatGPT at work. But most of them focus on complicated frameworks and jargon that can be hard to remember. So instead, I like to think of like this: ChatGPT is my employee, and I’m just the boss. Let me explain…
In the real-world if I needed something from my employee, I’m not just gonna tell them what I need. I’m also gonna give some background, and explain what a good result would look like. So I just take this same approach for ChatGPT.
For example, let’s say I’m trying to get some ideas for investing in the swimming pool market. Instead of just asking that question, I’m going to give some basic background first by telling it that I work for a technology company and we’re looking for new investment opportunities. Then, I’ll tell it very specifically what I want it to do - identify 5 technology-related business opportunities in that market. I’d also explain what an ideal result looks like by saying that I want a market size, an attractiveness score, and 2-3 bullets for each idea.
But then I’d take it a step further by doing other things I might do in the real world, like asking if it has any clarifying questions. Or giving follow-up instructions after its first try. And if I do it like this, my “employee” is gonna do a really good job.
I know it sounds simple, but try this next time you use ChatGPT, and you’ll be surprised how much of a difference it makes. Plus, it’s really easy to remember.
