A key to improving jump height is to improve jump ability. Understand how your athletes move, figure out what is their weakest phase of the jump, and build a program that improves that ability. Is it their braking phase, the transition, their propulsive ability, or even their elasticity and usage of stored energy? We can be so much more effective in our programming if we understand that each athlete is different and needs different focuses. Athlete training should never be one size fits all.
