This video describes the backdrop for the question "Why is TAD free?" Is there some defect? Is it missing something? Is there some hidden agenda? No. TAD is quite powerful the way it is now. Of course there are some things that are to be done -- but whatever that is implemented itself gives enormous power. So why really is TAD free?
To understand this question we need to look at computer as a new kind of "writing device" that come into our lives -- we never had the possibility of communicating lots of fine points to large no of people; even to people who would come later on to check on our data, and work with it.
Today, in this information age; we are at a cusp. On one hand we can continue to support an approach where there is "central and powerful control" over large amount of important data such as Google, Facebook, Twitter and so on. Or we can move towards a more equitable "uberization" where lots of people join hands together to lift the flock (I am mixing metaphors here) so that even if a few of the birds in the flock are outliers or ill and cant contribute to the flock; that flock of birds would still fly
Is there a revenue model behind TAD? Of course there is. But it is not based on "I will sell the software and you receive it" but instead there is a blurring of the boundary on who writes the software and who uses it.
More on all this, in the 2nd part of this large topic later.
