Why did an architect write TAD?
This video explains the backdrop on the reason why TAD was written. No, it was not to compete with Autocad, Revit, Sketchup, etc. Neither was it some "hobby" TAD addresses the practical needs of an architectural practice and also the theoretical depths that are needed in architecture. TAD was written because no other software addresses the areas that TAD works on. TAD is possibly the only one that allows design from early stages. Others claim they do early stage design but what they do is just visualization. TAD is the only one that actually does analytics too from early stages.
This video also explains the need for abductive logic in design; and in these times why just choosing one among a few bubble-diagrams in the beginning of a design process is insufficient.
