The Standing Cable Upright Row With Rope is an exercise that targets the shoulders and traps. If you have past shoulder impingement issues, you may want to avoid this exercise. ⁣⁣⁣
To get started:⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣
1️⃣ Attach a rope attachment to a low cable machine, then grip each end of the rope with a palms facing your body grip, so the ends of the ropes point to the ceiling.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
2️⃣ I like to pull the ends of the rope wide apart as this wider grip recruits more of the middle and rear deltoids. It also reduces the height you can lift the weight. By raising your hands to just chest height, it can help reduce shoulder impingement issues.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
3️⃣ With your back upright and arms extended, begin the movement by raising your elbows up and out, keeping the rope close to your body, until you reach chest level.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
4️⃣ Your elbows should always remain higher than your forearms and your back should remain stationary. ⁣⁣⁣
5️⃣ Reverse the movement by lowering the rope back to the beginning position, without allowing the weight to rest on the stack.⁣⁣⁣
6️⃣ Repeat for reps.⁣⁣⁣
