Today we’re taking a look at the Geekom IT12 mini PC. Both mini PCs and the Geekom brand are new to me, Geekom had reached out asking if I wanted to take a look at the IT12 mini PC and after looking at the spec sheet, I was very interested. The IT12 platform comes in your standard mini PC or NUC like sizing, the whole pc is about 117mil by 112mil by 45.6mil so this should fit on pretty much any desk and Geekom includes a vesa mounting bracket which is awesome to see as you can definitely more effectively hide the PC or locate it somewhere more advantageous than on your desk. The IT12 comes in two versions, you can either opt for the I5 12450H CPU with Intel Xe graphics, 16 gigabytes of ddr4 3200, and a 512gb PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMEe SSD OR you can upgrade a bit to the I7 model. The I7 model is coming with an i7-12650h, 32gb of memory, and 1 tb NVMe SSD. Both IT12 models appear to have the same layout, we’re getting not 1 but 2 40gbps USB-C ports which support up to 8k60hz video out, two HDMI 2.0 ports, a 2.5Gbps Intel i225-V NIC, and a barrel style power connector. On the left side we also have an SD card slot which is kind of nice, if you need to dump pictures or video off of an SD card, there’s a slot built right into the PC. On the front side of the IT12, we have two USB 3.2 gen 2 ports with one of those having a bigger battery icon, seems like this port should offer higher amperage charging for tablets and there’s a 3.5mm audio jack. I’m surprised to see the audio jack but I think it's a nice inclusion. I really like the selection of IO here, I think this is going to make the PC very handy for multiple purposes, standard pc, streaming device, steam remote gaming, even homelab. I’m happy to say that whatever you use this for, Geekom has you covered with a 3 year warranty on this PC. I think that's quite a bit better than most other prebuilts and I like to see that. In looking at the IT12 chassis, it has this nicer smooth touch outer layer of hard plastic but on the inside, there’s actually a metal case or cage for the PC which I like, this will definitely give it some strength.
