Today we’re taking a look at the Wavlink WL-UMD308 USB-C Docking station. Wavlink is sponsoring this video but all of my thoughts and opinions are my own. This USB-C dock is one of the smaller types of docks that you can get for your laptop. Considering the connectivity, it’s a relatively small size which is a plus for work from home and on the go setups in my opinion. The dock connects to your PC by USB-C and it support 1 USB-C 100w power delivery input port which is nice, you won’t lose USB-C power to your laptop, 1 8k capable display port up to 60hz if your PC supports it, and 2 HDMI ports both supporting up to 8k60 again if your PC supports that over its USB-C connection.

On the flip side of the dock, we have some USB 2.0 type A ports for external keyboard, mice, or flash drives. I ran my keyboard, mouse and a 32gb flash drive on this dock with no issues while running 2 HDMI connected monitors. The USB-C hub itself seems well constructed, I like the look of the device and the braided cable seems quite strong which is also nice, that will come in handy for people on the go. In my test setup here, I connected both of my ASUS monitors, my EVGA keyboard and Abkoncore mouse, and then just to be sure about the USB ports, I did test one of my 32gb drives, no issues handling everything. My laptop had no issues with detecting the monitors as soon as they were plugged in either so that’s good. Overall, I like this dock, it's small, has really good video connectivity if your laptop supports it, and you have a few USB ports for accessories and storage and you can retain that 100w USB-C power delivery input port if your laptop can be powered by USB-C PD. The size is nice and small, it's easily portable and easily hide-able in your desk setup. I think this is a good value USB-C docking station if video connectivity is your primary need. I haven’t looked at too many docks on the channel so, I’m interested to know what you all want from docking stations. What features matter most to you? Connectivity? Video support? Data transfer speeds? Let me know in the comment section below. I’ll have links to this dock and some other PC gadgets in the description so definitely check that out.
