It can be very difficult to draw a straight line using a graphics tablet, mouse or trackpad in Adobe Photoshop. So is there an easier way to create a straight line by using keyboard shortcuts? Well, in this video, I'll show you how to draw straight lines in both the horizontal and vertical axis, but also at any other angle that you need!

Draw a straight line: Hold Shift

✅ VIDEO SUMMARY
There are two shortcuts that you can use to draw a straight line in Adobe Photoshop. Both require you to have the Brush Tool selected and use the key SHIFT on your keyboard. To draw horizontal and vertical straight lines, hold SHIFT and drag you mouse across your canvas. Photoshop will automatically snap your brush to whichever axis you are trying to draw a straight line on. To freely draw straight lines in any direction, first press once anywhere on screen to draw a dot. Then hold SHIFT and press anywhere else on your canvas. Photoshop will automatically connect the two dots and form a straight line between the two!
