So you have a lot of layers in your After Effects project, and you're trying to re-arrange and position them in the correct order with perfect spacing, but it's just so difficult to do when you're relying on your eye. So how can using guides and rulers help us to organise our motion graphics designs more clearly?

AFTER EFFECTS SHORTCUTS
Show rulers: Cmd + R... (Windows: Ctrl + R)

✅ VIDEO SUMMARY
To add guides to your projects in Adobe After Effects, first enable the ruler. You can do this either by going to "View" and then selecting "Show Rulers", or you can press the shortcut (listed above!). Next move your mouse over either the horizontal or vertical ruler and hold, drag and place a guide onto your composition. To enable snapping (objects automatically line-up with your guides), got to "View" and check the item that says "Snap to Guides". From this menu you can also import, export, lock and clear all of your guides!
