Today we’re taking a look at the AMD RX 7600 and more specifically, the PowerColor RX 7600 Hellhound. I haven’t really ever reviewed a video card before but I had this card for a short while and I did genuinely like it so I thought I would share. The RX 7600 GPU features 2,048 stream processors, 8 gigabytes of gddr6 which operates at 18gbps. As for the Hellhound that I have here, there is a slight pre-overclock, the game clock is rated at 2,280MHz with the boost clock extending to 2,695MHz. Unfortunately, AMD designed the RX 7600s to only utilize 8 PCIe lanes instead of all 16 despite having PCIe gen 4 support. Running this on older systems will end up incurring a slight performance hit so whenever you are watching this in the future, ideally you want your system to support PCIe gen 4. The memory interface is 128bit which is ok I suppose for an entry level card. As for the video displays, we have 1 HDMI 2.1 and 3 total DisplayPort 2.1 ports with the caveat that you can only simultaneously use any two of the three disport adapters actively. Now that we have the high level specs out of the way, let's take a look at some synthetic and gaming benchmarks. I’ll be pairing the RX 7600 Hellhound with the Ryzen 7700X on an ASROCK X670E PG Lightning motherboard with 32gb of G.Skill DDR5 6000 CL32 memory. Being that TimeSpy is a synthetic benchmark and a little bit older these days, the 7600 scores well in my opinion. My test passes averaged an overall score of about 11,550 points, with a GPU score of 11,250 on average and an average CPU score of 13,700. Looking at Speed racer, the RX 7600 managed to hit about 2,050 points on average which makes sense for a card in this performance level given the state of Raytracing on AMD. Enough with the synthetics though, let's take a look at some games.
