In this amazing educational example, We will calculate stability Index according to ACI 2019 6-6-4-4. for doing this we need vertical factored forces and story shears and Center of mass drifts in ETABS. then we must copy and paste data to excel and calculate aci formula and check which stories can pass this control. as result when you turn on P-Delta effect, the number of stories that can't pass ( smaller than 0.05) is increasing. The calculations must be done for both X-Dir and Y-Dir . If your structure can't pass this control you should change your design and make new beam and column sections or using structure with bigger Ru or using shear wall or decreasing story heights or reducing Span lengths.
