How To Check Soil Pressure Under Foundation In SAFE v16 2023
In this educational example, To control the soil stress under the foundation, we must use the
combination of service loads with a factor of 1, and after defining all the service load combinations,
we must know the maximum value of each of the load combinations. For this reason we create a load combination
of Envelope type to cover this issue. Finally, after defining the service load combinations, we must turn them into
non-linear analysis cases. Finally, after analyzing and designing the foundation, the amount of soil stress
under the foundation will be compared with the allowable value, and if the soil pressure is higher, the following
solutions should be used.
1- using pile system under columns
2-increase depth of foundation to reach a hard layer of soil
3-increasing the edges of the foundation if possible
4-Reducing the weight of the structure by using lighter materials
