In this educational video, we will analyze and design a water tank buried in the soil in static conditions. Vertical and horizontal and cross ties rebar design are added to this video.
First, we assume that the wall is not cracked, and after the initial analysis, we check the cracking of the walls, The walls are cracked, we will modify their out-of-plane bending stiffness coefficients. Also, in order to make the design of the wall more economical, the thickness of the walls will be variable in height. To design the walls we will use general reinforcing option. Most of the moment is formed at the bottom of the wall and therefore most of the bending rebars will be reported in the region.
Finally, we will use SAFE v16 to design the foundation
