The goal of the December 2023 meeting of the Marine Ecosystems Community of Practice was to discuss tracking ship activities in the Central Arctic Ocean and its marginal seas in relation to changing environmental conditions and future fishing potential for the high Arctic ecosystem. John Bengtson (NOAA Fisheries) presented "Central Arctic Ocean Fisheries Agreement (CAOFA): new opportunities for collaborative marine ecosystem studies as part of the CAOFA Joint Program of Scientific Research and Monitoring (JPSRM)." Paul Arthur Berkman (UNITAR/Harvard) presented "Arctic Satellite Knowledge (ASK): Integrating Maritime Ship Traffic."
