The Greenland ice sheet science community recently gathered for two important meetings/workshops to discuss both past, present and future science objectives for studying and modeling the ice sheet. Jason Briner (University at Buffalo) presented on the recent Workshop on Greenland Ice Sheet Stability, which had three primary themes: processes at the ice-sheet surface; processes at the ice-sheet margins; and processes at the ice-sheet base. Joe MacGregor (NASA GSFC) shared information about the Future of Greenland Ice Sheet Science workshop, whose mission is to identify and advise funding managers on medium-to-long-term priorities for U.S. research on the Greenland Ice Sheet. The FOGGS team has prepared a white paper discussing meeting findings and goals, and this was presented to the community at this meeting.
