ND Filters
These are used purely to reduce the light entering the lens and onto the camera sensor. This helps to get that smooth film look by allowing slower shutter speeds when shooting video. Bright sunny days means fast shutter speeds and the video looks clunky. Add an ND filter and buttery smoothness awaits : )
A good ND filter will not affect the colour balance or sharpness of your media and the Freewell filters do a great job with this.
Polarizer Filters
The aim of the polarizer filter is to reduce the glare from glass, shiny surfaces as well as grass, leaves and even minute water particles in the sky.
The effect is without that glare, the natural, vibrant colours are allowed to shine though. However, it is important to be aware of your positioning to the sun when using polarizer filters on a wide angle lens. Watch the video for more information.
In this video, I show some examples of 5 and 8 second exposures taken at around 20 metres using the DJI Mavic 3 Cine drone. Amazing results and wirthy of buying yourself a set of these filters alone!
