The DJI Pocket 3 (Low Light Test)

After reading a lot of reviews on the Pocket 3, I took the plunge and bought one. I was expecting great things but once I had it in my hands, I was amazed...at everything. It is so intuitive and such high quality like so many DJI products these days.

It is a pleasure to use, easy to operate, a lot of fun and definitely my go to camera when heading out with the family or just out and about. In fact, I recently used it to film parts of a £2.4million property shoot in Weymouth, it's that good and I will be using it as a C-roll camera for fun stuff at an upcoming wedding.

The Band in the Video: The Haze

The Haze are a college band in Weymouth with Llewan, the lead singer, being one of my son's best friends. I filmed a couple of music videos for Llewan during lockdown as the band slowly started taking shape from its humble beginnings with Llewan playing solo acoustic sets in local pubs.

On this night I went along to their gig to test the DJI Pocket 3 in a relatively low light environment as I had just bought it. Everything else was superb so low light was last on the list.

This video has a selection of clips from their set edited together with their first single recently released called "The Game".

This song was written by Llewan and another close friend of my son's (and Llewan/the band) called Riley who sadly chose to end his life in 2022.

I wanted to use this song, video and Riley's story to accompany the low light test in memory of Riley who was a great lad and an incredibly talented guitarist/musician. Telling my son that his best friend had ended his life was the hardest thing I have EVER done and I wouldn't wish it on anyone.
