While observations are often used to evaluate and inform models, models can also play a key role in guiding and informing observations. The September 2021 joint Arctic Observing Systems, Modeling, and Glaciers & Sea Level meeting included presentations from two speakers on projects that have used models to inform observational studies in different aspects of Arctic research. The discussion focused on the challenges of bringing models and observations together and other examples/ideas from the community about using models to inform observational research.
