DJay 95 Plays: Espgaluda II (Arcade) Longplay
Hey players, DJay here with another arcade longplay on a bullet hell shmup, Espgaluda II.
Description of the game:
Espgaluda II is a vertical scrolling bullet hell shmup developed by CAVE and licensed by AMI exclusively for the Japanese arcades in November 2005 on the CAVE CV-1000B hardware, being the 3rd game to run on it after Mushihime-sama and Ibara. A home port for Android mobile phones was made available in 2010 and on iOS in 2011. The XBOX 360 version, Espgaluda II Black Label, was released in February 2010 and a re-release on the Nintendo Switch was released in September 2021 with new features, including a playable form of Seseri. Cues of songs from the prequel can be heard in Stage 5's theme. This is one of the few CAVE games with more than 5 stages.
After the events that took place with Ageha and Tateha having to fight their father Jakou, both siblings reunited with their mother and lived peacefully after going into hiding. 3 years later after the Great Shinra War, they find themselves in battle once again when they are discovered by a secret organization named the Spirit Society, that exists in the fictional country of Soma where they produced more children with psychic powers. One of those products, named Asagi, flees and came to assist Ageha and Tateha in their fight rebellion against the Spirit Society. 3 of them team up together and take the fight to the Spirirt Society and save the world.
Players choose between 3 different characters, each with their own shot types and must progress through 6 stages. The Kakusei mechanics return, but now with a new feature called Kakusei Zesshikai (press the Kakusei button again at the right time), which is required for scoring, releasing suicide bullets the moment an enemy is destroyed and is deactivated by pressing the button or using a bomb. Like its predecessor, there is no TLB, but there is a fight against True Seseri in Stage 5 which requires 3 conditions:
Do not die up until the fight against her.
Kakusei Over level 3 required.
Single play required.
Taking a hit will cost a life and reduce the amount of gold obtained to half the value, lessening the chance of scoring massive points.
