Description of the game:
Capcom VS SNK 2: Mark Of The Millennium 2001 is a crossover fighting game by Capcom released in arcades in August 2001 on the Sega Naomi GD-ROM hardware. It is a direct sequel to the 2000 predecessor with new additions and fixes. A port on the Dreamcast and PlayStation 2 was made in September 2001 and on GameCube and XBOX in 2002 and 2003 respectively.
A year has passed since the Millennium Fight 2000. This time, Garcia Financial Clique and Masters Foundation clash once more, paving way for Mark Of The Millennium 2001/ Millionaire Fight 2001. Returning fighters, alongside newcomers battle it out to become new champions. Which team will reign supreme in the Mark Of The Millennium?
The game retains mechanics from Millennium Fight 2000, but now with some tweaks and the ratio system been removed completely to allow a more varied customization in building teams. There are now 6 groove systems to choose from:
C, A & P Grooves: Systems based on Street Fighter Alpha 3 and Street Fighter III 3rd Strike
S,N & K Grooves: Systems based on KOF'94 (S), KOF'98 (N) and Samurai Shodown/Garou: Mark Of The Wolves (K).
Like the predecessor, players must knock out all of the opposing team's members. Depleting the opponent's health is the goal to winning a match. If the current fighter is knocked out, a different fighter will join in or the member fights again if it is a single member team. During gameplay, secret fights will be triggered if enough groove points are earned, pitting them against either Geese Howard or M. Bison (before the final match) and either Akuma or Rugal (after the final match).
