Treat yourself to a Peppered Roasted Sea Bream delight. We marinate the sea bream with black pepper, shallots, garlic, ginger, and a touch of green chili. After 1 to 8 hours, we roast it in the oven until it's juicy and flavorful. Drizzled with lime juice and a bit of oil, it's a simple yet delicious dish. Enjoy the tender fish with a hint of spice, ready to impress with minimal fuss.


Ingredients:

1 teaspoon black peppercorns
2 shallots
4 garlic cloves
Ginger (thumb-sized piece)
1 green chilli (this chilli was hot, adjust to taste)
Salt (to taste)
1.5 tsp (olive oil or any cooking oil)
Lime juice (from 1 lime)
1 tsp chilli flakes
1 whole sea bream, cleaned

Instructions:
Prepare the Marinade:
In a blender or mortar and pestle, grind black peppercorns, shallots, garlic cloves, ginger, and green chili into a smooth paste.

Season and Marinate the Fish:
Score both sides of the sea bream with shallow cuts.
Rub the ground paste on both sides and inside the cavity of the fish, ensuring it's well coated.

Drizzle 1 tablespoon of oil over the fish and squeeze lime juice on top.
Gently massage the marinade into the cuts and cavity.

Allow the fish to marinate for at least 1 hour, or ideally up to 8 hours, in the refrigerator.

Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).

Roast the Sea Bream:
Place the marinated sea bream on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
Roast in the preheated oven for approximately 20-25 minutes or until the fish is cooked through and easily flakes with a fork.

Serve:
Garnish with fresh herbs like cilantro or parsley.
Serve the grilled sea bream with your favourite side dishes, such as roasted vegetables/ potatoes or a light salad.
