Tokaloo Rock - Mount Rainier, Washington State
Tokaloo Rock is a 7,684-foot mountain located on the west side of Mount Rainier, above Saint Andrews Lake. This remote peak towers over the headwaters of the Tahoma and Puyallup Glaciers, offering a stellar view of the majestic Mount Rainier. In this video, we bicycle along the Westside Road to the South Puyallup River, then hike to the Wonderland Trail and onward to the faint Andrew Peak route. The trail becomes a loose, rocky, and hard-to-follow scramble upon reaching Andrews Benchmark. Along the way, there are stunning views of Mount Rainier reflected in numerous tarns, adding to the destination's beauty. Nearing the summit, the volcanic rock, blanketed in pumice, creates a landscape that feels otherworldly. Overall, this destination is yet another prime example of what makes hiking and climbing in the Pacific Northwest so special.
