Amazing OTIS Di5 Ultra High-speed elevators – Conrad Seoul, KR
Here we have some awesome Korean OTIS lifts (worldwide known as Sigma), which travel up to a speed of 6 meters per second, in a luxurious 5-star hotel on Yeouido Island.
That's 37-floor Conrad Seoul, which is located in IFC Complex. There are six guest elevators in the hotel, they go from L1 to 37, serving 35 floors in total (excluding 4, 7 and 10), doing room and restaurant access. All of them were installed in 2012 and manufactured by OTIS Elevator Korea.
The model is Di5, which is very rare all over the world, even in the home country of that brand. Many people say, that these elevators are predecessors of OTIS SkyRise, which is being manufactured in Korea since 2016.
All six elevators have same cabins with two car operating panels and one LCD indicator, which was replaced to a new one less, than one year ago. The design is neat, natural and posh, it represents the style of Conrad hotels' design.
No doubt, these elevators are great. However, they definitely could have destination dispatch, because of the number of floors they serve. It's a bit sad, that in Korea developers don't install DD systems for elevators in hotels.
