How to develop a data provider matrix report to show the retail sales per store per item in D365 FO
To have important sales data like item quantities and value is a very important aspect for the supply chain, manufacturing and finance departments. This will ensure the timely availability of stocks for the retail customers to meet the sales targets. The video demonstrates how to develop a data provider matrix report to show the retail sales per store per item per month in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance.
The matrix report expands columns and rows dynamically to cover two different aspects or categories of information. In the video, column groups cover the stores or retail channels based on the user's selection. The row groups on the other hand covers the items with their respective unit of measure. Each of the columns then has quantities and values sold for specific items on a row and specific stores on a column basis. The totals for rows and columns are also included to have a grand view of information. Since dynamic columns can not fit on the screen, so an Excel export option will be the best to receive on a scheduled basis via batch jobs.
