The Guitar Solo Session series features interpretations of some of my favorite guitar solos. In many cases, I try to stay true to the original solo, while also incorporating some different licks, nuances and inflections. My overall goal is to be in the musical ballpark.

About the song and the solo:

"Tell Me" was the second single from White Lion's Pride album. Released in 1987, the song reached No. 58 on the Billboard Hot 100.

"My solos aren't about dexterity; they are about personality and composition -- things that people can't take away from you," said Bratta.

Influenced by artists such as Jimmy Page, Eddie Van Halen, Robin Trower, and Elton John, Vito Bratta's guitar playing has been heralded as melodic, fluid and technically accomplished.

For my lead guitar track, I played my Black Ibanez RG560 guitar through a Bogner-inspired custom patch on my Eleven Rack. To mimic the harmonizer effect on the original recording, I used my Eventide PitchFactor, set to the Diatonic function. The backing track was downloaded via GuitarBackingTracks.com
