I’m going to show you how to make a Lao crispy pork belly. We use very few ingredients and it is super easy to prepare.
In Laos, a meat dish is always enjoyed with sticky rice ‘khao niao’, vegetables and a spicy dipping sauce called ‘tiéo’.
I also show you how to prepare them.
👩🍳 Ingredients for 4 people:
1 lb pork belly
¼ tsp salt
½ tsp ground white pepper
1.5 tbsp fish sauce
1 tsp sugar
2 tbsp all-purpose flour
2 tbsp cornstarch
Frying oil
Side dishes:
Sticky rice
Cucumber, bitter melon, water spinach
Tièo kapi dipping sauce:
1 tsp shrimp paste
2 hot chilies
1 garlic clove
a pinch of salt
1 tsp sugar
1 tbsp fish sauce
1 tbsp lemon juice
Tièo nam pa dipping sauce:
2 tbsp fish sauce
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp chili flakes
1 tbsp toasted sticky rice powder
a little spring onion
