Calming ocean sounds and rain for almost 12 hours, for deep sleep, studying, meditation, relaxation, or reading.
Imagine yourself spending time in a little house over the ocean, right next to the beach. Falling rain is making you feel there is nothing better left to do than make yourself comfortable, lie in your soft bed, relax, and rest. Take a deep breath, lay down, or sit in your comfortable armchair and listen to the sounds of the ocean waves and sounds of rain hitting the water surface. It's a calm rain with no storm so you can fully focus on your relaxation - it will not be disturbed by no thunder. Listen closely to the melody of the sounds of the water dripping down the gutters and running in thin streams down to the beach.
I don't know how about you, but this sound makes me very calm and relaxed. It feels like listening to the ASMR. It makes me want to go to bed and immerse myself in meditation or make myself a cup of tea and start reading a good book. Relaxing ocean and rain sounds are some of my favorite white noises. I have found it also very useful for work. When I want to fully focus on my hobbies or even do my regular job in the office or in home, ocean waves and rain sounds it what lets me forget about all the stress and tension, and makes focusing on the task much easier as well as more pleasant and satisfactory.
However, most of the time I use relaxing ocean and rain sounds for sleeping - I like listening to the ocean waves coming and going, imagining as they're arising and falling with the pouring rain sound as being their background. For me, this white noise ASMR-like recording going for more than 10 hours with no ads in the middle is one of the best ways to fall into a deep sleep. Obviously, I have added no ads in the middle of the movie for a reason - I don't want you or myself being suddenly disturbed in the sleep, meditation, or relaxation. For the same reason, I appreciate no thunder in this recording. I can assure you no lightning will surprise you when listening to this natural white noise :)
As far as I know, a lot of parents use the natural sounds of the ocean and rain to make their newborns fall asleep. No wonder - after all, it's a beautiful, natural white noise that is very pleasant for babies' ears. For newborns and babies, these ocean waves sounds are similar to what they have been hearing in their mothers' wombs. It makes the little baby calm and sleepy, relieves the stress, and let them fall into a deep sleep easily.
This white noise - nature sounds of ocean and rain influence adults in a similar way. However, the reason behind it seems to lie deep in our minds. In our very natural ways of thinking and reacting. Ocean waves sounds are billions of years older than our civilization. They were a part of our environment forever, impressing us with their vastness. It's a well-known psychological fact that people calm down and relax when they see or hear the ocean. Rain sounds work the same way. For our ancestors (as well as for ourselves today), the rain lasting as long as 10 hours (or even almost 12 hours) meant that it's better to stay inside. When we hear it's raining our mind the natural reaction of our minds is to prepare us for rest - deep in our minds we know that's the best time for relaxation and maybe even sleeping. The whole nature stops and rests for a while, and we are safe in our homes.
Luckily for us, it is possible on YouTube to upload a very long recording, so we can listen to this ocean and rain sounds for 10 hours (or actually almost 12 hours), which is long enough for use of any kind. It is a very pleasant experience when you start the 10h ocean waves white noise recording while going to sleep, and you wake up in the morning with the same relaxing sound fulfilling your bedroom.
I think that more than 10 hours of rain with no thunder and no ads in the middle is also good for parents - the sound can be safely played to the newborn to help him or her fall into a deep sleep for the whole night or sleep for a few hours during a day with the rain and ocean waves in the background.
But why am I actually calling these sounds "white noise"? I haven't just created this term on my own :) White noises are the whole category of sounds - both natural and artificial. This term is used to name not only the sounds of falling rain, pouring water, ocean and sea waves but all the relaxing sounds that can help you calm your mind or focus.
