ARTIST TALK :: 배영환 Bae Young-whan :: KAIST Art Museum 카이스트 미술관
KAIST 미술관은 2024년 10월 2일 배영환 작가를 모시고 교양강좌를 진행하였습니다.
배영환 작가는 핑크 플로이드, 닐 영, 데이빗 보위의 음악에 맞춰 기타를 연주하며 자신의 뇌파 데이터를 수집해 예술의 출발점으로 삼았습니다. 이 데이터를 통해 3차원 부조로 변환된 작품은 뇌의 신호를 시각화한 "마음 풍경(心象)"으로, 내면과 미래에 대한 의문을 형상화합니다. 뇌파와 예술의 융합을 통해 창출된 새로운 형태의 예술적 경험을 공유해 봅니다.
Artist Bae Young-whan played guitar to the music of Pink Floyd, Neil Young, and David Bowie while collecting data from his brainwaves, using it as the starting point for his art. The collected data were transformed into three-dimensional reliefs, visualizing brain signals into "Mindscapes" that shape questions about the inner self and the future. In this interview, he shares this new artistic experience created through the fusion of brainwaves and art.
