Ingredients for 8 pieces:
330 g white all purpose flour
40 g egg white (one egg white)
180 ml (30~37°C) milk, warm, room temperature
30 g sugar
3g salt (1/2 tsp)
5 g yeast
30 ml vegetable oil
For layers:
30 g butter, softened
100 g jam (about 3 tbsp)
60 -100 g raisins or other dried berries
Starch (potato or corn) for layering dough (2-3 tbsp)
Surface:
1 egg yolk
1 tbsp. milk
Sugar optional
The bun dough itself is not very sweet; the amount of sugar can be adjusted by sprinkling the buns on top to taste.
Place the buns in the cold oven and heat the oven to 185°C (or 365°F)
Once heated, bake for ~10-15 minutes or until light golden brown.
