I first found DSEQ courtesy of some comparisons with Oeksound Soothe, and Soundtheory's Gullfoss. It sounded like it was in a similar vein, so I wanted to check it out.
After a few minutes of playing with it, I decided I need to spread the word, so here with are with another video.
First up, go get the demo version for free from TB Pro Audio's website: https://www.tb-software.com/TBProAudi...
Essentially it operates like a dynamic EQ (not a compressor, the website suggests) which is operating on the incoming sound, and you can set attack/release/threshold for processing to take effect - along with some other parameters which affect the performance over the frequency spectrum.
These are "slope" which is in db-per-octave (think different types of noise, pink noise, white noise, brown noise ... as the slope of the threshold across the frequency domain), and selectivity (how isolated should modifications be in terms of frequencies affecting their neighbours).
There's also a pre-filter so you can isolate the effect to a particular range or intensity, and heaps of oversampling and quality modes (which I haven't dived into yet).
