I'd like to show you an app I've been working on with my colleagues Ken Baloun and Calvin Manning. The Historical Topo Map Explorer lets you sift through over 180,000 USGS topographic quadrant maps spanning 127 years of gorgeous cartography.
It's a basic file that makes it easy and fast to find handsome vintage topo maps and download them (or save them as a new web map). You can also create animations too, if that's your thing.
