Reddy Care In-Home Occupational Therapy
In this video, Jennifer Zeitler OTR/L and her patient are working on a standing task in order to improve his balance for single-leg stance required for independent shower transfers. He rolls a colored die that matches the color of a cone in front of his feet. He has to tap the cone with his foot based on the number rolled on the dice. When they started, he couldn't lift his foot to do this; now, he has to roll again if he gets a 1 because his standing tolerance has improved a lot. This also works on his sequencing and motor planning. After spending 1.5 years confined to a bed, they have worked extremely hard to maximize his time out of bed and give him his quality of life back.
