Making Harry Potter’s Wand – Harry Potter DIY Wand – movie replica
In this video, I’ll show you a very quick and easy way to make an exact replica of any wand from JK Rowling’s wizarding world of Harry Potter, or even your own custom design! Here, I made a wand Inspired by the design of the wand belonging to the famous character, Harry Potter (The Boy Who Lived) from the world-famous series!

I am a huge fan of the harry potter universe and ever since I became a fan, I’ve always said I’d rather be at Hogwarts! Inspired by my dreams to receive my Hogwarts acceptance letter, I decided to try and make my own wand instead of purchasing one. (Which the added plus of no hot glue and a really nice, heavy, luxurious feel!)

This tutorial is perfect for witches and wizards on a budget, those who love to be creative, those who cannot obtain a wand or (most commonly) Witches and Wizards that are unfortunate enough to live too far from Ollivander’s wand shop located in Diagon Alley.

Making time: Solidly, around 2 hours (30-minute baking time and 10-minute cooling). With practice, you will get quicker. This is my 2nd wand.
Keep in mind - If you make any mistakes, want to add lots of detail to the wand or air bubbles form in the clay after baking, the wand will take longer to make.

Approximate pricing:
Clay, ½ used (£2.50)
wooden dowell, 1/3 used (£1)
Paints, 1 ‘dollop’ each (£1 each)
All together: £6.50
Harry Potter’s wand average retail price: £30
Savings: £23.50

What you will need:
A wooden Dowel
Clay (I used the brand, Fimo)
Sculpting tools (e.g.: for nail art, squeezing pores, needles or pins or baking tools)
Paints (red and green to make the brown, black to darken it)

An oven
A tray
Greaseproof paper
Paper and a pencil to draw the desired shape
Ruler for precise measurements
