Did you know you can activate the parasympathetic nervous system? This is a great way to oppose the sympathetic nervous system which controls the flight, fight and freeze responses to stress.
The vagus nerve is the 10th cranial nerve that goes from the brainstem to the organs in the chest and abdomen. It controls parasympathetic activity and helps to reduce stress and anxiety.
