This video shows you how to reset the forgotten root password on the Linux based Ubuntu operating system.

To reset your system's root password:
Step 1: Restart your Ubuntu system and hold the Shift key to open the GRUB menu.
Step 2: After opening the GRUB menu, press Enter in Advanced options for the Ubuntu option.
Step 3: In the next window, hit Enter on the Recovery Mode option.
Step 4: After opening Recovery Mode, press the Enter key on Root.
Step 5: In the command prompt, execute the commands from the 1.15 timeframe of the video tutorial in order.
Step 6: Type the username for which you want to #reset the root #password and execute the corresponding command on the console.
Step 7: Type in your new password and finally restart your system using the sudo reboot command.
