Another video I made last year, another one of those “I don’t know if I should post this because none of my subs watch Black Sails because it is highly underrated and for some reason unpopular? Why is this show so unpopular? It’s the best written show on television right now? Season 3 was the best piece of television to come out of 2016? I don’t understand?” But a couple of people seemed to like the last one, so here it is :) The idea came to me totally out of the blue and I think it came out making a lot more sense than I thought it would. The thing I was trying to focus on is Flint choosing to trust Silver with his thoughts and his past, even though he has his doubts. This song’s phrasing was just too perfect to get that point across. Considering we have no way to know what s4 has in store for these two, I like the ambiguity of the big talk scene of ep 3x10, so I played with that a little. I know by now Luke Arnold has partly clarified what he thought the scene meant for Silver, but I didn’t know that at the time I made the video, so… vagueness it is! Or alternatively: it’s Flint’s pov, so what does he know? You decide.

I’m aware the show probably isn’t going to go the romantic route with these two (?? I mean. You never know. It is Black Sails, after all), but I do feel like a one-sided Flint likes Silver is pretty near to being canon right now, which is why I felt this song could be considered appropriate even though it’s romancy. I do actually have another video planned that explores their actual dynamic a lot more than this one does - at least, I think it will - but it’s a hard one and I think I’ll wait for s4 to come out to finish it so I can include the full journey.
