Top wildlife photographer 2022 Kgalagadi photography
The top wildlife photographer of 2022 has been awarded his prize from the top 6 photographers at a Desert dune at the kgalagadi lodge just outside the kgalagadi transfrontier park.
The special event organised and sponsored by the Lodge and Joe's camera at the end of each year for the top 6 photographers chosen throughout the year through monthly finalists was held on a sacred dune of the ancient Khomani San people. SJ Koortzen and his wife Denise did the cooking and event on the dunes.
The top photographers Hugh Mitchler, Gert Lamprecht, Gerhardt Theron, Jan van Zyl, Ilne Booyens and Annette Smit (absent) were treated to a weekend at the lodge. The weekend is then obviously used to visit the Kgalagadi transfrontier park to capture new images and experience the parks exceptional beauty.
Hugh Mitchler was awarded the top prize by Joe Lategan that includes the weekend all inclusive, R13000 cash, Butchers box, a enlargement of the winning image displayed at the lodges wall of fame in the restaurant, a inclusion on the kgalagadiphotography.com website, a interview and selection of his top photos. A value of R50000. All by Catfishjoe productions Joes cameras production company. Also his top 5 images to be presented for sale at the lodges gallery in the reception.
The 2nd place was awarded to Ilne Booyens for her exceptional owl image. 3rd went to Gert Lamprecght with his raptor cathing the meerkat.4th price went to Jan van Zyl for his secretary bird catching and swallowing the snake. 5th place Annette Smit capturing the image of a group of ground squirrels and mongoose fighting a cape cobra. 6th price went to Gerhardt Therons portrait of the bataleur.
