Today being a photoshop boffin for wildlife and landscape editing, is not required. I have found that the majority of wildlife and landscape photographers can improve instantly without taking another photo through just a little editing skill. It also seems to be the one area where most don't want to improve in. The photographers that do progress without a doubt, accept that they have to up their skill level in editing and make some effort. The smallest group is the one where editing becomes part of the talent or passion and they really excel to become recognised.
You've captured the images and what now?
The majority of wildlife photographers struggle with the decision to edit their images or what would enhance the images in the edit suite. To decide to go colour or black and white, straight or artistic comes only with experience.
In this series I go through "film strips" back in the studio from a field trip and do quick edits and discussions of the animals. Good for the wildlife photographer wanting fast and easy editing.
