How NFTs will revolutionize medicine
Non-fungible tokens, or NFTs, are all the craze at the moment with some NFTs like a picture of Cryptopunk selling for millions. It may seem ridiculous (and it is) but the technology behind NFTs can make huge waves in healthcare space and ultimately improve patient safety. NFTs are based on blockchain, but unlike your typical Bitcoins or Ethereum, they cannot be traded between one another. As a result, they are used to represent things like digital artworks and videos. If instead we used this technology to securely store patient data in the form of electronic health records, we would see an unprecedented level of security and continuity of care which would positively impact the lives of millions. The applications don't stop there though, and it can be used to track things like blood donations or medications!
