Code refactoring can become complicated when models we refactor are also persisted in the database. Watch this video and learn how you can evolve the database schema using Entity Framework Core.
In this video, we will face several hard problems:
Presence of historical data,
Request for high performance of the database, and
The request to run the old and new application versions in parallel while evolving the database schema.
We will address both issues by carefully planning schema updates, and driving the schema evolution so that, at every stage of the process, the two versions of the application can operate on the same updated database.

👨 About Me 👨
Hi, I’m Zoran, I have more than 20 years of experience as a software developer, architect, team lead, and more. I have been programming in C# since its inception in the early 2000s. Since 2017 I have started publishing professional video courses at Pluralsight and Udemy and by this point, there are over 100 hours of the highest-quality videos you can watch on those platforms. On my YouTube channel, you can find shorter video forms focused on clarifying practical issues in coding, design, and architecture of .NET applications.
