We’re all looking forward to Easter, but prepare yourself for EGGS-orbitant prices when it comes to chocolate! Cocoa futures have roughly DOUBLED since the start of the year, and climate change seems to be the culprit. Rising temperatures have damaged the crops in West Africa, which produces over seventy percent of the world’s cocoa! Add in rising sugar prices, and some corporate greed, and you’ve got more expensive chocolate. Just one reason the National Retail Federation expects candy sales to drop around TWO HUNDRED MILLION dollars relative to last year!
The Facebook ‘poke’ is making a comeback! TECHNICALLY, it never went away, but it's been buried, and the platform is working to reverse that. For starters, Facebook’s made it easier to find the pokes page, and has added the ability to poke a friend when you search for them. We’ll see if more changes are coming, but apparently, they’re already working: the rate of poking is WAY up in the last month!
And Paris will soon be hosting the Olympics, so before all the tourists arrive, it’s important for the waiters and waitresses to get in shape! That’s why, after a thirteen-year hiatus, the city resurrected its waitering race, which saw hundreds of contestants doing a 2K, carrying trays! Each of which – naturally – had a croissant, a coffee cup, and a glass of water! There were separate prizes for the top man and top woman, with the overall FASTEST time coming in at thirteen-and-a-half minutes. Yeah, I’d tip twenty percent for that! Back in a flash!
