Halloween spending is expected to reach eleven-point-six billion dollars this year!
That’s down from the record-setting twelve-point-two set last year, but those taking part in the spooky season are still spending on average over a hundred dollars!
Also, there may be a decrease in dollars, but the season is getting longer! A full FORTY-SEVEN percent of those surveyed started their Halloween shopping BEFORE October. And that’s up two percentage points from last year!
As for what spending is going to, the biggest two line-items are decorations and costumes at three-point-eight billion dollars each, with candy just behind at three-point-five!
And it might interest you to know that the three-point-eight billion spent on costumes breaks down as follows: one-point-eight billion on adults, one-point-three on kids, and seven hundred million dollars on PET costumes!
