'Dry Land' is a hauntingly-beautiful song from early in Joan Armatrading's career, and is from her 1975 'Back to the Night' album. It's a gem, and hopefully this film does it justice. The song was co-written by Pam Nestor and features Joan on vocal and piano, and Pete Gage on synthesiser. The sailing ship at the start of the film is the Jubilee Sailing Trust's tall ship 'Tenacious'. The sailing boat at the end is the restored Fifie Herring Drifter 'Reaper', owned and operated by the Scottish Fisheries Museum in Anstruther, Fife. It was visiting Whitby in August 2013. Photos were taken in Anglesey and Porthmadoc, North Wales, Whitby and Cornwall. Film by Steve Poole.
