This song (starts at 1:50) came about from one of my voyages with the Jubilee Sailing Trust, which takes people of all physical abilities on Tall Ship adventures on its barques 'Tenacious' and 'Lord Nelson'. It's about how seafarers can't take much with them when they sail but you don't need much to make you happy!

Take me away to a far distant shore
Where the four winds can blow through my hair
And fortune can smile on me for a while
On the journey to who knows where
For lands they are plenty, and I'll take my fill
My footprints I'll leave in the sand
New friends I'll meet, and the seasons we'll greet
We can hold all the world in our hands, in our hands

All I could wish for is wind in my sails
A sunset before me and the song of the whale
And a place I can lay my head, a place I can lay my head

I'll follow the sun, to the land that's beyond
The place where the sea meets the sky
Where the bottomless blue, and the clear morning dew
Bring a tear of joy to your eye

So sail me away to a land that is new
Where the milk, and the honey, run free
Stow all the gear, there's a new course to steer
To a place that I'd like to be
