Top 10 Metallica Riffs for TWO Boss PS6 Harmonists
One Boss PS6 Harmonist can play a lot of Metallica harmonies, but two PS6s can do a lot more! These are my 10 favourite riffs and explanations how to get that sound. Besides the Boss PS6 I used the Zoom MS-70CDR because it has effects that mimic the PS6 very well. I used the Zoom's Pitch Shift and HPS (Harmonic Pitch Shift) effect, which the latter sounding like the PS6 in Major and Minor mode.

Signal Path:
Ibanez RG470, bridge humbucker (Dimarzio Super Distortion), guitar is in E flat standard tuning - Keeley Compressor Mini - TC Electronic Sentry - Digitech Whammy DT (to get back to E standard tuning) - Line6 HX Stomp (Scream 808 and Das Benzin Mega amp and cab sim) - Boss LS2 Line Selector (output A) - Boss PS6 Harmonist - DAW. (LS2 output B) - Zoom MS70-CDR - DAW.
I double tracked all parts and hard panned them. On the left channel I play the upper harmony of the riff and let the PS6 generate the lower one, on the right channel it's the other way around. Bear in mind that if you want to play the lower harmonies and let the PS6 generate the upper ones, you might need to set it to a different key compared to the ones showed in this video. Besides, the moments where you switch between the two pedals might also be at different times. The intervals should be the same.
