Happy Hardcore - Pedalboard Jam
If you're wondering what you can achieve with guitar pedal besides rock music: Happy Hardcore is also possible. I've tried to make my guitar sound unlike a guitar and more like a synth using these techniques:
In the intro/verse I've created a loop on the Boss SL-20 Slicer. The Line6 HX Stomp has a dual pitch shifter activated so my single guitar notes are converted to major and sus4 chords in the key of C. After the loop is created I've overdubbed some notes where the dual pitch shifter now creates notes an octave below and a fifth above my original note.
The chorus has an afterbass created by the Source Audio C4. After a couple of bars playing single notes I turn on the sequencer and later a second one for the melody. All of this is in the key of E minor.
After another verse and chorus we're at the bridge where I've stopped the bass sequencer. Once I've shifted it up slowly using the Digitech Whammy DT, the SL-20 loop is added back and the bass sequencer starts again. The bass sound is more like a low register melody at this point.
In the finale everything is mixed together. Although the verse is in C major and the chorus in E minor, they blend very well together.
