Valentine's Day has become an EXPENSIVE holiday! According to the National Retail Federation, the AVERAGE American expects to spend a hundred and ninety-three dollars celebrating it this year! And people in the thirty-five to forty-four year old age bracket say they'll spend even more - 336 dollars! As for what they're spending it on, about fifty-seven percent of people are getting candy, and forty percent will pick up cards. Other popular items include flowers, dinners and jewelry. Yes please!
Something else people are doing on Valentines Day, is traveling. According to travel insurance company Allianz Partners USA, V-Day travel is WAY up this year, by FORTY-FIVE percent over last year! Twenty-nine percent of trips are international, with Mexico the MOST popular destination. But the majority of trips are domestic, with Orlando, Las Vegas, and Fort Lauderdale leading the way.
And it seems writing a Valentine's note is so tough, many guys are having Artificial Intelligence do it for them! A new poll says FORTY-TWO percent of American men will use AI to craft their messages this year! Why? Well, most said it'd help them feel more confident, or they didn't have time to write their own. Many men said their partner wouldn't know, so AI would be quick and easy! Clearly, romance is dead!
