In my experience, about 5% of patients receiving the ClearView 3 multifocal lens are dissatisfied with their reading vision. These patients see shadows, secondary images, or blurred vision when reading text or images on their phone or in print. The far vision in these patients tends to be excellent. This 5% group of ClearView patients is typically bothered enough to want additional surgery to improve their near vision.

We have been using the Odyssey multifocal lens as the lens implant replacement when we remove the ClearView 3 lens in a procedure called intraocular lens exchange. For the patients that have received the odyssey Lens after having the clearview 3 lens removed, all have been satisfied with their quality and range of vision far/mid and near.

We interview a patient who was unhappy with her clearview 3 lenses. She describes her vision before and after receiving the clearview 3 lens, and then describes her vision with the odyssey lenses.
